This photo shows where the smaller bundle of wires connect to the
power and standby switches.
These are insulated, female disconnects. Use a needle-nose
pliers to pull them off the switch lugs.
It doesn't matter if the two yellow wires or the two black wires get reversed,
but I always mark where they went anyway.

The only remaining connection between the preamp and the power amp is the
chassis ground wire shown here.
This is a ring terminal, held on by a machine screw, nut, and lock washer.

All the cables are now disconnected.
Pull the cables and plastic tubing through the holes in the rear of the
preamp.
Then set the preamp chassis aside.

The power amp can now be taken out of the Ampeg SVT Classic.

The first step is to unplug the fan connector, shown here.
|
|
Then remove all the silver machine screws from the bottom of the SVT, but
not the feet.

Finally, slide out the power amp chassis.
