Korg® SV1 2:  Removing the Bottom Plate

After taking out the bottom screws from the Korg SV-1, lift up the rear of the wooden base plate.

You can pry it up with a flat screwdriver or pull on the rubber feet.

Lifting Up the Bottom Plate

As you lift up the rear of the plate, notice the groove joint at the front of the plate (see right).

Slide the plate rearward to free it from this joint.

With the bottom mounting plate removed, the keybed is free to be lifted out of the instrument.

But before doing that, we'll unplug the ribbon cable that runs between the keybed and the SV-1 control panel.
