Removing and reinstalling the Korg SV-1 keybed is, arguably, the trickiest procedure in this repair story.

In this photo, we approach the keybed from behind and grasp its rear support rail.

We lift up the rear of the keybed.

After the rear of the keybed clears the instrument shell, you can slowly pull the keybed rearward.

You must carefully navigate the keys through mounting tabs on the side panels (see right).

When reinstalling the keybed, refer to this photo to recall how the keybed aligns with the side panels.

If the alignment isn't correct, the wooden bottom plate won't reinstall.
