Here you see an early-40s, art deco, “Electar Zephyr”
guitar amp. Epiphone manufactured many versions of this amplifier
between the late 1930s and early 1950s.
Here you see Django Reinhardt plugged into one:
With its blonde maple-veneer cabinet, walnut striping and
elaborate trim, this early Zephyr helped blend the guitar player into the most elegant of
front lines!
A streamlined, nickel-plated handle resembles a stand light.
Under the hood, a 12-inch field-coil loudspeaker and an unusual complement of
vacuum tubes help make this early Zephyr a notably sweet-sounding 25 watt guitar amp.
